The E-Learning Collaborative was founded by a group of Association Executives that recognized the need to bring together Digital Learning Practitioners who work in professional societies and trade associations to promote collaboration and the exchange of innovation. These leaders observed the major technological revolution occurring in K-12 and Higher Education and they understood that the traditional Continuing Education delivery model was also changing.
The Collaborative was founded on meeting the unique needs of Digital Learning Practitioners developing E-Learning Programs and Online / Hybrid Learning Content in Professional Societies and Trade Associations.
Professional Societies and Trade Associations play an important role in the Lifelong Learning Continuum. The Collaborative offers several different opportunities to promote excellence in developing and administering E-Learning Continuing Education and Professional Development Programs.
Members have access to our E-Learning Exchange for the dissemination of best practices for developing digital learning content, courses and programs. Our Specialty Certification Program and our Awards Program recognize excellence in our profession and our Innovation Symposium provides a venue to promote the use of new technology for continuous quality improvement.
Membership in the Collaborative is comprised of Associate Members and members who have attained the Certified Association Learning Specialist (CALS) credential.
Membership in the Collaborative begins at the Associate Member Level. All Members of the Collaborative have access to the E-Learning Exchange, a monthly E-Newsletter and discounts for attending the Annual Symposium. Associate Members have the option to apply for the Certified Association Learning Specialist (CALS) designation. Members who become certified pay a fee of $199 per year to maintain the specialty designation and use of the (CALS) Logo. Renewal of Associate Member and CALS designation is done by signing into the Member Portal.
The E-Learning Collaborative offers internship opportunities that aim to prepare the next generation of leaders, bridging the gap between academics and real-world experience. Student interns have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects in support of the mission of our organization including research and development of content for our E-Learning Exchange and in production of our Annual Innovation Symposium.
